Microbiological contamination, most important water quality parameter, is still evaluated manually by a 1 to 3-day lab procedure which is not suitable for automation, online monitoring and process control neither does it serve people’s health as results are not available to control processes or take rapid actions against bacterial contamination. VWMS is providing the ColiMinder for microbiological contamination measurements in 15 minutes. It is deployed within the process, providing microbiological contamination as an online parameter for process automation, monitoring and early warning. Since 2014 It has proven reliability, robustness, and stability in different applications as well as in scientific validation studies around the globe.

The technology is based on direct measurement of specific metabolic (enzymatic) activity of target organisms, either faecal indicator bacteria like E.coli or Enterococci or using a bulk parameter for Total Microbiological Activity, covering all living organisms present in the sample.
