Offering customers the most economical and resource-saving foundation construction concept for medium-deep foundations.

About

Since most of the “good” building sites have already been built on, it is necessary to build on “worse” building sites. These building grounds must be made stable before the actual construction work.

The advantage for customers is that, in most cases, TERRA-MIX works with the existing soil and therefore needs fewer building materials as aggregates. This usually results in lower costs and a shorter construction time for customers when compared to using other foundation systems.

TERRA-MIX concentrates on medium-deep foundations, which encompass a depth of 5 to 7 metres from the working planum. The goal is to offer customers resource-saving systems.

The systems are:

GROUND STABILISATION

With the system of ground stabilisation by milling in binding agents, soils which otherwise could not be used as building material and would therefore have to be exchanged for suitable soil or gravel are prepared by mixing in binding agents (lime, cement, or special binding agents) to such an extent that they are suitable as building material.

The binding agent suitable for the respective soil is placed on the soil with a spreader and then mixed into the soil up with a milling machine at a depth of up to 50 cm. After that, the soil is suitable as a building material.

IMPULSE COMPACTION

With IMPULSE COMPACTION, the existing compactable soil is compacted down to a maximum depth of 9m with a medium density. In contrast to competing systems, TERRA-MIX works from the working subgrade without drilling. In most cases, the existing soil is used as the building material. Therefore, the system is very resource-saving and fast.

HYBRID FOUNDATION SYSTEM TERRA-MIX

This system combines the ground stabilisation system and IMPULSE COMPACTION. Soil stabilisation is installed by milling in binding agents via the compression columns of the IMPULSE COMPACTION. The stabilised layer serves as a replacement base layer which distributes the load via the so-called bridge effect from the compression point to the compression columns.
